Chelsea's hippest park stretches along a length of abandoned raised subway tracks, offering a gorgeous view of the Hudson. Start your night off right - grab a couple foamy, creamy iced lattes and some front row seats to the end of the day.
If you've never been to Eataly, Manhattan's Italian food market, you're in for a delicious surprise. Eataly is all about a love of outstanding food and fresh ingredients, and it's a fabulous place to browse for some specialty cheeses, oils and herbs to enhance your kitchen at home. The cherry on top is the rooftop Birreria, where artisan ales and lagers are brewed just feet away from where you sit.
This Greenwich Village underground hotspot has a reputation as an unpretentious place to get your groove on. Forget about waiting in line to be judged by the bouncer - all you need to be admitted to Sullivan Room is a small cover and a desire to dance the night away. For best results, show up fashionably late.
Located on the far east end of St. Mark's Place, Yaffa is a 24-hour eatery that boasts eclectic decor, a romantically lowlit, caravan-esque atmosphere and both front patio and back garden seating - so you can choose to snuggle up in an indoor booth, watch the late night crowd meander through the East Village, or hole up together in a private corner of the garden. New York is a different city after midnight, and with the right partner in tow, it can be irresistibly romantic. Don't just take our word for it, though... see for yourself!
In our article A Late Winter's Date in NYC, we told you all about West Village sensation Barraca. Now, as a special treat to cap off our Rhapsody in Red celebration, meet the talented master chef who creates the magic. Chef Jesús Nuñez, master of combining exquisite flavor with artistic presentation, was kind enough to grant us a Valentine's Q&A.
How is your work at Barraca different from the dishes you created at Gastroarte?
JN: Although the style of food is very different, it is the same in one aspect: I try to make the best food possible. At Barraca I'm cooking genuine, authentic Spanish food--comfort food, casual dishes that bring a bite of Spain to the table. At Gastroarte, I was transforming Spanish recipes and creating contemporary interpretations of traditional dishes--melding ideas together and playing with food.
Where do you find inspiration when thinking up innovative ways to present a dish?
JN: I don't have a concrete answer for this question. My inspiration comes from everywhere--from a color, a texture, an ingredient, a picture, a dream, a form, a crazy idea, a sunset, a conversation, a building, an artist. I don't look at food as just food; I look at is as the medium through which I can be creative. Sometimes when I walk in the kitchen, I know what I'm going to do. But sometimes, I play with a dish, using the ingredients as legos, trying to fall in love with the presentation. Of course, though, the most important thing is the flavor, and this is something that I never forget.
Can you describe your most memorable/romantic Valentine's Day meal? Was it created by you, or for you?
JN: The most memorable Valentine's Day meal was cooked for me by my girlfriend, who created an entire menu in just one dish. Let me explain: She was following a pasta recipe that called for spinach, but when she finished, the pasta ended being more like a soup (first course), with rough, raw spinach piled on top, resembling a salad with walnuts and cheese (second course), and then a pasta (entrée). But love was in the air!
What advice would you give the casual chef on plating a dish to create an extraordinary Valentine's Day meal?
JN: Cook with love and passion--this is the secret. Don't drive yourself crazy; prepare something simple. The extraordinary part of dining on Valentine's Day is enjoying a meal with the person you love.
What is your favorite seductive dish?
JN: Foie gras terrine with sea urchin, Iberian ham sauce, persimmon and passion fruit. This is an explosion of flavors and textures that you can't forget. When you eat this dish, you fall in love with it, and then with me (haha).
What kind of romantic gift or special treat do you like to give your lover for Valentine's Day?
JN: A nice card written from the heart. Then I try to get home early from work to giver her a massage. Simple, honest and effective. Anyway, I'm not really a Valentine's Day guy; I'm an "every-day-is-Valentine's-Day" guy.
Thanks to Chef Nuñez for taking the time to answer our questions! Take his advice and remember that the love and passion you pour into the preparation of a meal is what makes it truly special, and the time you spend savoring it with the one you love is the most important part. May your day be filled with romance, delicious food, and sweet seduction.
We're fascinated by the art of the love letter. Ever since we started coming across these intimate pieces of romantic history, we've felt compelled to share them with the world. So to celebrate our Valentine's Day Rhapsody in Red, here's one more installment in our series of love letters from famous figures throughout the ages. Don't forget to check out part one and part two.
These letters, and many more like them, came from the fabulous and fascinating blog Letters of Note.
First, a letter of love and longing from artist Rockwell Kent to his wife, Frances:
"Frances! I am so lonely I can hardly bear it. As one needs happiness so have I needed love; that is the deepest need of the human spirit. And as I love you utterly, so have you now become the whole world of my spirit. It is beside and beyond anything that you can ever do for me; it lies in what you are, dear love -- to me so infinitely lovely that to be near you, to see you, hear you, is now the only happiness, the only life, I know. How long these hours are alone! Yet is good for me to know the measure of my love and need, that I may at least be brought to so govern myself as never to lose the love and trust that you have given me. Dear Frances, let us make and keep our love more beautiful than any love has ever been before. Forever, dearest one. Thy Rockwell."
No less lovely for its wildly different style, here's a letter from beloved comedian George Carlin to his wife, Sally: "SALLYBURGER, If you took THE NUMBER OF SUB-ATOMIC PARTICLES IN THE UNIVERSE and multiplied that number times itself THAT MANY TIMES; and then added the total number of MICRO-SECONDS since the beginning of time, times itself; and then added 803--you would STILL have only the tiniest fraction of A BILLION-BILLIONTH PER CENT of the amount of love I HAVE FOR YOU. Love, your candle partner, the romantic Mr Carlin, your eternal flame."
And finally, a letter of pure, raw emotion from writer Vita Sackville-West to Virginia Woolfe: "...I am reduced to a thing that wants Virginia. I composed a beautiful letter to you in the sleepless nightmare hours of the night, and it has all gone: I just miss you, in a quite simple desperate human way. You, with all your undumb letters, would never write so elementary a phrase as that; perhaps you wouldn't even feel it. And yet I believe you'll be sensible of a little gap. But you'd clothe it in so exquisite a phrase that it should lose a little of its reality. Whereas with me it is quite stark: I miss you even more than I could have believed; and I was prepared to miss you a good deal. So this letter is really just a squeal of pain. It is incredible how essential to me you have become. I suppose you are accustomed to people saying these things. Damn you, spoilt creature; I shan't make you love me any more by giving myself away like this -- But oh my dear, I can't be clever and stand-offish with you: I love you too much for that. Too truly. You have no idea how stand-offish I can be with people I don't love. I have brought it to a fine art. But you have broken down my defenses. And I don't really resent it."
May these heartfelt words inspire you to send a love letter of your own. Happy Valentine's Day, lovers!

It's a good thing we've got Valentine's Day to brighten up February, because this can be a tough month to ride out. It's easy to come down with some serious cabin fever while you're waiting for the snow to melt and the sunshine to return. But with the most romantic day of the year just around the corner, this is no time to hibernate - so we wracked our brains to come up with the sweetest, hottest New York City date imaginable. A stimulating museum, a red-hot gourmet meal and a feel-good dessert will get you out the door and feeling fine.
Start the day off with a visit to the Museum of Sexon 5th Ave.
Arousing, entertaining, and surprisingly educational, it's the city's only museum with sex appeal! Beside the permanent collection of sexual art, artifacts and oddities, the Museum houses an array of ever-changing exhibits, a lower-level aphrodisiac bar and cafe, and a fully stocked "gift" shop where you and your date just might want to pick up something something frisky and fun to play with later on. You're going to have quite the appetite after all that excitement. Well, do we ever have a treat for you. Make your reservations early, because a table at Barracais hot property.
Chef Jésus Nuñez, the mastermind behind the revolutionary cuisine at Gastroarte, puts a modern spin on classic Spanish tapas and paella with a four-course tasting menu of dishes as gorgeous as they are delicious. The West Village setting is irresistibly romantic, and the restaurant's house-infused sangrias will put you in a good mood in no time. Feast on creative fare like oyster and sea urchin soup, torta del Casar cheese fondue, and hake fish in vegetable Mediterranean sauce, while enjoying Barraca's rustic ambiance and elegant, yet comfortable atmosphere.
After dinner, should you wish to treat yourselves to a little extra dessert, take a stroll to Union Square to find the (in)famous Max Brenner restaurant. With signature confections like urban s'mores, pearl sugar chocolate waffles, crepes brulee, and a variety of fondues, it's the perfect conclusion to a decadent Valentine's date in the city. Stay warm, lovers!

Valentine's Day is kind of our signature holiday here at Seduction Meals. Every year, we bring you fabulous recipes, tips, shopping guides and special features to help you celebrate your love in style. This year, our theme is A Rhapsody in Red. The color of fire, passion, desire, and just a little bit of danger.
We want to hear all your best and worst V-Day stories. And what better place to create a rhapsody in red than on Reddit? Check out our newly created subreddit, and make an account (it's absolutely free and anonymous, and couldn't be easier) to follow the board, share your own stories and comment on others.
We're also feeling a bit smitten this year, so we'll be sharing sentimental love letters written by famous figures from across time. For example, this beautiful apology from jazz great Charlie Parker to his girlfriend, Chan Woods...
"To you;
The way I thought was wrong, having not known, it was right. Here is the proof of my feelings, Don't hate me, love me forever: -- -- -- --
Beautiful is the world, slow is one to take advantage. Wind up the world the other way. And at the start of the turning of the earth, lie my feelings for thou.
Love never hibernates, so we've put together a few recent releases that pair perfectly with gray skies, icicles, and snowbound romance. Long days in bed are even sweeter when you're keeping each other warm.
Tonight is the second-to-last night of our Twelve Days of Christmas experiment, and my final gift to Remy.
Over the last eleven days I've come to really appreciate the love in my life. I've found a man who completely understands my tastes; who celebrates both our similarities and our differences; who, after a year of friendship and love, continues to surprise me and be surprised by me.
Remy went for old-fashioned romance with last night's bouquet; I'm going for old-fashioned seduction tonight with some sultry tunes. First, I'll let him unwrap the Hotel Costes box set; then, I'll ask him to put it on for some background music while I slip into the second part of tonight's present...
Two days until my final gift. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little nervous... but mostly, I'm just excited. This past year with Sage has been like something out of a movie. The way we connect, the way our differences complement each other, the way it seems so natural to have her in my life. I know she feels the same; what we have is simple, beautiful, and completely right.
With only four nights left until Twelfth Night, Remy and I decided to switch things up. For tonight's gift exchange, we'll be eschewing the material gift exchange in favor of a seductive date night at home. We've collaborated to put together some good background music, a sumptuous home-cooked meal, and a romantic movie. We're dressed to the nines - me in my new Free People dress, Remy in his sharpest suit (with some very special cufflinks!) - and we've got our sparkling seasonal cocktails mixed up and ready to go.
First, we'll light a few candles, dim the lights and set the atmosphere with one of our favorite albums, March of the Zapotec by Beirut. It's moody, romantic and perfect for waltzing around the kitchen while we prepare a delicious raw food dinner.
We found a recipe for Supercharged Raw Zucchini Pad Thaiat SuperChargedFoods.com and instantly agreed that we had to try it. Several of the ingredients - almonds, coconut milk, garlic, and ginger, to name a few - are known to be aphrodisiacs when used raw, so we should be feeling pleasantly frisky by the time we're ready to snuggle up for a movie!
I chose the music, so Remy picked the movie, and he couldn't have picked a more delightful one. L'Amie de Mon Ami, a French film by director Eric Rohmer, is romantic, clever, and fun: the perfect choice for dinner and a movie at home.
2013 has only just begun, but I feel so certain that the love and light that have filled these last nine days will set a pattern for the rest of the year... and beyond. Wishing you all as much joy.

Happy 2013, everyone. We made it! I know some of us had our doubts, but here we all are with another year ahead of us. And I, for one, have never been more excited to find out what's in store. With Sage on my team, I feel ready for any challenge.
Last night we watched the ball drop, surrounded by good friends and good vibrations. We shared a small, lovely midnight kiss and a sip of champagne, and for the first time in my life it felt like more than just a tradition. It felt like a promise, a secret, unspoken pact between the two of us in the midst of all that noise and activity.
And later, of course, we exchanged gifts, and made some beautiful artwork.
Tonight, I'm treating my girl to an awesome dress from Free People. She loves their designs and I know she'll rock this one. The southwestern print is exactly her style, and the fit is ridiculously sexy. I can't wait to see her in it!

So here we are at the end of 2012. Remy and I met one year ago tonight, which seems... completely surreal. If you told me that only a week had gone by since we got together, I'd say that feels about right; but at the same time, Remy feels like a long-lost childhood best friend.
By turning Christmas into a twelve day celebration, we're not just prolonging our favorite holiday. We're taking a week and some change to honor this amazing connection we've formed in just one short year. I've never known love like what I have with this extraordinary man. I feel blessed, and so, so lucky.
When we get home from tonight's NYE party, I'm giving Remy something a bit more titillating than a book. I got us a Love is Art kit so we can ring in 2013 by making a lasting testament to the bond we created in 2012. It comes with a canvas and paint - the canvas goes over your bed (or on the floor, maybe?) and your bodies become the paintbrushes! Creates a very personal statement, no?
Maybe we'll hang it over our bed. We'll just tell my parents it's a Jackson Pollock print.

Today, Sage and I went for a stroll through Central Park. The city is still all decked out for the holidays, and with a fresh dusting of snow it's more beautiful than ever. Stoic horses pulled laughing tourists along the carriage paths, families built snowmen in Sheep Meadow, and crowds of ice skaters glided across Wollman Rink. An urban winter wonderland. Wrapped up in our warmest scarves, we sipped on hot lattes while our toes grew numb through multiple layers of socks, and I thought... I hope she's in the mood for some summer berries.
I'm going for classic romance tonight with some gourmet chocolate-dipped strawberries. They look absolutely delicious, so she'd better be in the mood to share, too.

So far, our Twelve Days of Christmas celebration has been a resounding success. It's really made me realize how close Remy and I have become over this last year. Exchanging a single gift each night in the privacy of our apartment, with a few candles burning, soft music in the background, and the smell of something tasty in the oven wafting through the air has made the holidays feel more magical than they have since I used to listen for reindeer hooves on the roof.
Remy's always saying he wants to cook more. So I figured I'd get him started with my favorite seductive recipe book, The New InterCourses. The recipes are incredible - tantalizingly tasty yet simple to make; the photography is super sexy, and the descriptions are nearly as delicious as the food!
After dinner, I have another surprise. I wrote to Martha Hopkins, the author of InterCourses, to ask if she could recommend a special aphrodisiac dessert for us to make together. I was over the moon when she wrote back! So tonight, my man and I will be whipping up some chocolate fig bundles, courtesy of one of my favorite seductive chefs. A little red wine, soft music, low lights, and luscious dessert with my love... what could be sweeter on a chilly winter's night?
3 tablespoons confectioners' sugar, plus more for garnish
Slit the figs down the side. Place in a bowl with 1 tablespoon brandy; let stand for 30 minutes to plump with flavor.
Grind 10 of the almonds in a food processor with the granulated sugar or chop very finely
by hand. Combine the ground almonds, sugar, chocolate, and remaining 1⁄2 tablespoon of brandy in a small bowl until it forms a paste. Stuff 1 teaspoon of the mixture into each fig along with 1 whole almond.
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Set a single phyllo sheet on a clean surface and keep the others moist with a damp kitchen towel. Lightly brush the sheet with melted butter. Fold the right third over the middle then the left third over the middle (you will have a 3-layer sheet). Lightly butter the surface and sprinkle with 2 teaspoons confectioners' sugar. Cut the strip in half to form 2 rectangles.
Place a stuffed fig, slit-side up, in the center of each rectangle. Pinch each corner in half,
and bring each corner together in the center to form a star shape. Brush the fig packet with melted butter. Repeat the process with each fig and place the bundles on a baking sheet. Bake for 13 minutes, or until crisp and golden brown. Remove from the baking sheet to a wire rack and cool slightly.
Place 2 or 3 bundles on each dessert plate and sprinkle with confectioners' sugar.

Sage hit the nail on the head with that David Bailey book last night! He's kind of my personal hero. His shots were actually what made me want to get into photography. I don't think anyone else ever captured the drama and glamour and tragedy of such incredible subjects the way he did. And the best part is, my incredible girlfriend had no idea I was into his work. It's crazy how well we can read each other... just like I could tell that when she gave me that book, she was also thinking about that London trip we've been talking about forever.
Well, we might have an opportunity to go sooner than she thinks. Backpacking through Europe with her would be a blast! But I'm getting ahead of myself ;)
As it so happens, I'm giving Sage a book tonight too. Opening Up: The Search for Intimate Love is half photography, half poetry, and altogether really stunning. The honesty and vulnerability reminded me of some of her paintings (the ones she claims aren't that good). Maybe it'll inspire her to paint more.

Remy and I have been talking about visiting London together for practically the entire time we've been dating. We're both big fans of British invasion rock, mod fashion and the BBC, and we've both been to England before but didn't really get to experience London the way we wanted to. When we go together, I know we'll do it right.
In the meantime, I got Remy this awesome book, Birth of the Cool, about London's hippest '60s scene photographer, David Bailey. It's a biography as well as a collection of Bailey's work, and just the kind of thing I can see my guy getting engrossed in for weeks.
To top off the evening, I'm going to whip up a special meal for us tonight as well. Pomegranate is said to be a powerful aphrodisiac with those luscious red seeds... Hmmm. Anyway, here's a link to the recipe I'm using if you want to try it for yourself. Bon appetit!

Christmas in Connecticut yesterday was wonderful. Being back at my parents' house reminded me of all the great holidays I've spent there in the past, and having the lovely miss Sage there with me made me think about our future together. Being with her is so easy, and so much fun - when I'm with her, even something as mundane as running out to the corner store to buy eggs becomes an adventure. That's how I want to spend the rest of my life.
Can't wait to give her this gorgeous cashmere scarf. It's practical and luxurious - way nicer than anything she'd buy for herself, and I love knowing that she will finally stay warm this winter.

It's barely been a year since we met, and today Remy and I are driving out to Connecticut for Christmas dinner with his parents. Aside from a disastrous 4th of July barbecue back in college, I've never spent a holiday with a boyfriend's family before. I'm amazed by how completely natural it feels now.
This morning marks the start of our Twelve Days of Christmas experiment, too. We're both such suckers for the holiday season that we decided to stretch out our gift exchange until January 5th, just like the old carol (but with substantially less birds (I hope).
Remy says he's saving something for the last night that I couldn't possibly top. I said we'd see about that.
In honor of our holiday pilgrimage to Remy's childhood home, tonight I'm giving him these custom map cufflinksfrom Uncommon Goods. I had them made with a map of the Connecticut neighborhood where he grew up. They're fun yet sophisticated and totally work-wearable, and I think he'll love the personalized touch. This is what they look like...can't wait to see them personalized!

Once upon a time, the Christmas holiday was celebrated over twelve festive days. From Christmas Day until January 5, known as Twelfth Night, gifts were exchanged each evening, making spirits bright through some of the darkest nights of the year.
This year, Seduction Meals invites you to join us in celebrating our own Twelve Days of Christmas. From December 25 through January 5, we'll be sharing a romantic holiday fantasy: the story of a young couple in love, celebrating their first Christmas together in anticipation of many happy holidays to come.
Step into a voyeuristic journey told through images, recipes and excerpts from Remy and Sage's personal blogs, as they treat each other to twelve days of the most lavish, enchanting gifts they can dream up.
Before you go out on a date, or to simply enjoy a lovely spring, summer or fall afternoon, why not surprise your loved one with a beautifully set table filled with a cheese platter, a bottle of champagne and a plate of caviar. Its a great way to set the mood for a wonderfully romantic day or evening together.
What is one of my favorite things about summer in the city? Rooftop bars. After a sweltering summer day, after work cocktails on a rooftop where the breeze is cooler and the view is stunning is the perfect way to relax with friends or a lover. Only problem is that Manhattan is full of them, and some are
A word of warning: anything situated on a rooftop is no cheap night out. Prepare to pay for the view!
107 Rivington Street, Lower East Side (between Ludlow and Essex Street)
If you can get past the difficult doormen and make your way through the slick hotel to the penthouse, you'll be rewarded with three-floors of views. The third floor even has a large hot tub if you're not too shy! Call ahead before planning your night, as the space frequently tends to host events.
33 W 37th st, Midtown East (between 5th and 6th Avene)
The star attraction at this bar, situated on top of the Strand Hotel, is its view of the Empire State Building, standing literally right in front of you in all its glory. The perfect place to take out-of-towners looking for the New York wow-factor without the escalated drink prices.
On the fifth floor of the W Downtown Hotel is this ultra-modern rooftop bar with a metallic warped ceiling and wraparound terrace for warm nights. Great views of the construction going on at Ground Zero, soon to be a view of the Freedom Tower, and never too crowded. The menu features items from the BLT Bar & Grill.
17 W 32nd St, 14th Floor (between 5th Ave and Broadway)
I hesitate to even mention this one, because it is (supposedly) such a secret, but thank god, this bar hidden on the 14th floor of La Quinta Inn in Koreatown proves that there IS such thing as a non-pretentious rooftop bar. After you recover from the shock of the reasonable drink prices, look up and see the Empire State Building towering above.
145 E 50th St, 31st Fl, Midtown East (between Lexington and 3rd Avenue)
At the top of the Kimberly Hotel lies this bar with 360 degree views of Manhattan. The atmosphere is charming with string lights and a breathtaking view of the Chrysler Building. Come back in the morning to try the very popular brunch.
So you've got the meal, you've got the date, but don't forget another key ingredient- the music. Music has the amazing power to influence a person's mood--it can make you feel good, sexy, blue, happy. Set up a music play list to complement your romantic meal for two. Try a few from this suggested playlist. You can also listen to the songs with the music player below:
David Gray / Sail Away
Stateless / Bloodstream
Amel Larriuex / For Real
Beirut / Nantes
The Temper Trap / Fools
Frou Frou / Let Go
John Mayer / I Don't Trust Myself (with Loving You)
There's nothing more blissful than spending an entire morning in bed with your loved one, enjoying a romantic breakfast in bed, a soothing cup of coffee or a glass of champagne, the NY Times crossword puzzle, a good book, or just listening to some great tunes. Here is a list of songs to inspire your music play list for a lazy morning in bed. You can also listen to them below:
Ray LaMontagne - Trouble
Mazzy Star - Fade Into You
Sufjan Stevens - To Be Alone With You
Bob Marley - No Woman No Cry
Peter Frampton - Baby I Love your Way
KT Tunstall - Heal Over
Norah Jones - Feels Like Home
Brooke Fraser - Without You
Angus & Julia Stone - Big Jet Plane (LOVE this one!)
Imagine amorous sparks flying through the air based on the food you serve. Well...if you believe in magic and historical tales of aphrodisiacs and wanton behavior; this is your lucky day. We put together a list of the top ten Aphrodisiacs to consider when preparing a romantic meal for two. Foods with a reputation for stirring the imagination and fanning the flames of desire. Remember...the mind is the most powerful aphrodisiac and if you believe.... then so be it!
The top ten aphrodisiacs for seduction are:
1. Oysters One of the quintessential aphrodisiacs of love, oysters are said to titillate the imagination and arouse one's sexual desire, mostly when eaten raw. The very act of slurping a raw oyster can be sexy. It probably helps that oysters are linked to one of the most notorious lovers of the world--Casanova who supposedly ate over 50 raw oysters a day to boost his libido. Here is a wonderful recipe to try for your next Seduction Meal: Char Grilled Oysters with Roquefort Cheese and Red Wine Vinaigrette.
2. Caviar Caviar is another highly sensual food. Delicate seafood balls of seduction that pop in your mouth with each bite. Sexy indeed. Caviar is said to increase blood flow to the genitals so how could you not have sex on the mind? There is nothing like a candle light dinner, a special caviar dish, and champagne or vodka to complement this extravagant meal. Price also plays a role in setting this aphrodisiac apart as something very special to share with a loved one. A very enticing appetizer or midnight snack with your loved one: Yellowtail Tartare with Payusnaya Caviar.
3. Lobster Lobster the tastiest crustacean Here is a recipe by Chef/Co-Owner David Burke, David Burke & Donatella, NYC called Angry Lobster on a Bed of Nails. A recipe that will certainly stirred the imagination.
4. Avocado Originally called ahuacate, the Aztec word for testicle, name was changed to avocado to make it easier for Americans to pronounce. Avocados are sexy and nutritious. With summer approaching, here is a sensual seafood and avocado seduction meal: Chllled Avocado Seafood Soup.
5. Asparagus Will this food help put you in the mood for love? If you believe in the power of suggestion, perhaps. The asparagus strongly resembles the male genitalia--so much so that eating a spear of asparagus dipped in melted butter (especially with your fingers), for some can be a very erotic experience. Here is a very simple recipe for Asparagus with Lemon. Serve with a side of melted butter, dip, and bring to your mouth and indulge!
6. Chocolate Ahhh.. Chocolate. The gift of the Gods and a world-wide tradition on Valentine's Day. Chocolate does create a chemical reaction in our bodies-- it makes our brain secrete endorphins which is linked to the sensation of happiness and pleasure. Possibly the number one, most ordered chocolate dish in restaurants around the world: Chocolate Molten Cake. Created by Chef Jay, this recipe is truly a Seduction Meal... how could it not work its magic? Molten Chocolate Lava Cake with Raspberry Sauce
7. Chili Peppers Sexy. Sensuous. Red. And full of Heat! It makes your face flush, promotes sweat at the brow and makes hearts flutter. Sounds like love! And chili peppers also release endorphins when eaten so imagine the double whammy of a chili-spiced chocolate treat?? So how about these "LOVE Cupcakes" - Pequin Chili Chocolate Cupcakes.
8. Truffles Perhaps this is more of a contemporary aphrodisiac...truffles can be found enhancing the flavor of many dishes in today's top restaurants. If your lover lists steak as his or her all time favorite meal, here is a very simple grilled Steak dish with a light, earthy but enticing truffle enhanced flavor. Grilled Rib-eye Steak with Black Truffle Butter Buttons.
9. Figs Reminiscent of the curves of a women - figs are fleshy, plump and luscious. One of my all time favorites. Here we have a recipe that was created by Chef John: Burrata Bruschetta with Grilled Figs - as he says "Bringing Sexy Back"!
10. Honey known as the nectar of Aphrodite, honey is a natural, luscious sweet treat associated with increasing sexual desire. Due to its runny, smooth texture and sweet, glistening, sticky nature, it truly is a sensual substance. We end with a recipe that boasts two aphrodisiacs: Honey and Pomegranates: Honey Roasted Hens with Pomegranates.
Valentine's Day is soon upon us; a day of love and romance celebrated and shared by two. Here are 10 tips to help create a memorable Seduction Meal at home. Be creative, have fun and share the love!
10 tips for Perfecting your Valentine's Day Romantic Dinner:
Ambiance. Create a warm, cozy ambiance. Dim the lights, add candle light (unscented of course), start up a roaring fire, play sexy music, and set up a beautifully, seductive dining table.
A Gift of Appreciation: Start the evening by presenting a gift, a small token of appreciation. Something very personal, a bouquet of flowers, or a wonderful box of chocolates--all Valentine's Day traditions.
The Beauty of Flowers: Beautiful flowers add elegance to the ambiance - drop a trail of rose petals from the door to a bucket of chilled champagne or a pitcher of martini's, or if you are in a long term relationship (or just bold) the trail can lead to the bedroom, although I suggest you do this visually after dinner as you both walk the trail together
Sexy Music is important and will set the tone of the night. Check out the Music Lounge on SeductionMeals.com for an array of sexy tunes to create the ultimate music play list. Or you can use Pandora or Stereomood for a romantic play list.
The Seduction Meal: Select a meal that is special, something new or a favorite of your date. Don't be timid, if appropriate, have some sexy fun and place delicate
morsels of food in your lover's mouth to heighten and tease the senses. Don't spend too much time in the kitchen - keep it simple or prepare some foods the day before.
The Presentation: Perfectly Plate a dish to be as visually enticing as possible - look at magazines, TV shows and cookbooks for inspiration.
Portions: Keep the portions small so you can enjoy a 2, 3 or 4 course meal and not get weighted down by too much food.
Timing: Pace the meal - appetizer, main dish and then dessert with perfect timing. Enjoy each session and use the seduction of the presentation for each course, presenting each dish as if it is a gift.
Dance: Have fun in-between courses. If the music moves you, toast each other with a glace of champagne, embrace, and dance; a natural seduction and romantic moment.
Savor the Meal and Each Other - slow down and embrace the magic of each other. Savor the food: the aroma, flavor, texture; perfectly paired with wine. Share and enjoy the moment together and remember, Valentine's Day is for lovers.
The tradition of showering your loved one with flowers and chocolate for Valentine's Day is an all time favorite and appreciated by all recipients. Here are a few excellent choices to consider:
What is your all time favorite romantic restaurant--the one that you
would go to on Valentine's Day or for any special romantic meal for two?

A few of our readers have weighed in....
One
person said: "It would have to be a quite, smaller out of the way
kinda place, probably French, and would be willing to prep the table for
you ahead of time with Roses, present etc."
One if by Land Two if by Sea, New York City This
West Village restaurant came up often as one of the BEST choices for
Valentine's Day. Once Aaron Burr's carriage house, One if by Land Two if
by Sea is renown for its old-world charm and ambiance, think fireplace,
high-ceilings and chandeliers, amazing service and elegant dishes. And
for the die-hard romantic, this restaurant is known as THE place to pop-the-question.
Le Bernadin, NYC. Another
favorite of many is Le Bernadin. Noted for impeccable service,
beautifully presented dishes, and of course the executive chef Eric
Ripert. And let's not forget Le Bernadin boasts a three-star Michelin
rating. One of our responses: "Hands down....Le Bernadin. The BEST in
the city for a truly romantic experience with outstanding food every
time--they never let you down."
Geoffrey's, Malibu California If
you love sun, sand and sea, this place is for you, with incredible
views of the Pacific ocean, you can enjoy a romantic brunch or a cozy
candlelit dinners with surrounding fire pits, one response: "Geoffrey's
of Malibou...pretty spectacular".
Convivio, New York City If
Italian Food is your favorite fare, Convivio was a top contender for
consideration on Valentine's Day. Convivio is best known for
outstanding pasta dishes and authentic Southern Italian fare. Here are
two reviews by two of my favorite magazines: Gourmet.com and Food &
Wine;
"Sheer Genius." -- DANA COWIN / FOOD & WINE
"Nobody else in New York is cooking these authentic Southern Italian dishes." -- RUTH REICHL / GOURMET.COM
So... you have a hot date with someone really special but its too soon for a romantic meal at your place. Here are five great choices for romantic restaurants in New York City that are sure to please, seduced all senses, and show your cultured taste. Be sure to make reservations well in advance. Five Romantic Restaurants for your first Date
LE BERNARDIN / 155 West 51st
Street Le Bernardin is a legend when it comes to fine dining. It is by far one of the most glamorous French restaurants in all of New York City with impeccable service and incredible attention to detail. Needless to say the food is phenomenal and the overall dining experience uniquely special.
BABBO / 110 Wavery Place Hailed with a glowing 3-star review by Ruth Reichl of the New York Times shortly after its opening, Babbo has since been met with much critical acclaim. Mario Batali and Joseph Bastianich transformed the Old Coach House, a New York restaurant landmark from the '60s, into a modern Roman-style trattoria. Everything, from the tiny bar where Italian wines are poured to the upstairs dining room, is altogether inviting. Babbo dishes will dazzle and delight. As stated in NY Magazine: Babbo, the most exciting Italian restaurant in town serves food you'll never find in Little Italy.
BLUE HILL FARMS / 75 Washington Place NYC / 640 Bedford Road White Plains Blue Hill in Greenwich Village, is the perfect setting
for a romantic meal for two. Located in a landmark "speak easy" in the basement of a Greenwich village townhouse, Bill Hill serves inventive American fare in a very cozy setting. Their Valentines Day "no utensils" tasting menu has become the talk of the town and a local favorite.
DANIEL / 60 East
56th Street Renowned French Chef Daniel Boulud's four star restaurant will not disappoint! A Zagat survey referred to it as a "home to what would be heaven's kitchen". Elegant, sleek and contemporary not only describe the interior but also the impeccably prepared menu. The Skybox offers a "Chef's Table" in a private dining atmosphere that is enclosed in glass and offers an overhead view of the kitchen. Very romantic, formal attire, pricey but worth it!
PETROSSIAN /
182 W. 58th Street What could be better than caviar and vodka or champagne for your first date? Owned by the Petrossian Family, the menu boasts elegant French-influenced contemporary dishes that feature caviar, smoked fish, and foie gras delicacies for which Petrossian is known throughout the world. Etched Erté mirrors, Lalique crystal, Limoges china and sparkling chandeliers create anappropriate setting for your romantic meal for two.

charming streets and pass quaint houses and boutique shops. Cycle along

This is for all caviar fans out there. A wonderful recipe to consider for your next romantic meal for two: Seared Scallop with Caviar Vinaigrette. This delightful seafood dish can be served as an appetizer to seduce the palette before serving your main dish, or this could the main star of the night. You can adjust the recipe accordingly. While this recipe calls for one scallop per person, I would definitely go for two or three. Either way, if you are fans of seafood, this is sure to please. You will be amazed at the great flavor of such a simple yet elegant dish.
Seared Scallop with Caviar Vinaigrette Recipe courtesy of Black River Caviar from Darrell Jensen - Executive Chef, Game Creek Club
Ingredients:
1 each U-10 Dry Pack Sea Scallop*
2 teaspoon Mashed Potatoes
1 teaspoon White Truffle Oil
1 teaspoon Chives, chopped
2 Tablespoon Caviar Vinaigrette (see recipe below)
Big Pinch - Micro Greens Intensity Mix from Natures Best
*When buying scallops it is good to note that scallops are sorted according to size. U-10 means up to 10 pieces per pound, next is 10 -20 (10 to 20 per pound), 20-30 per pound, and so on. The less per pound the larger, more succulent the scallop.
Caviar Vinaigrette:
1 oz Lemon Juice
1 oz White Truffle Oil
4 oz Olive Oil
2 oz Champagne Vinegar
2 Tablespoon Shallots, minced
1 Tablespoon Thyme, Fresh Chopped
1 teaspoon Caviar
Salt & Black Pepper
Instructions:
Make a very small batch of mashed potatoes
Sear the scallop in hot olive oil on one side until golden brown. Turn over and place in pre-heated oven for one to two minutes.
In a small bowl, mix potatoes, truffle oil and chives and place on plate.
In another small bowl, mix 2 T vinaigrette with the caviar.
Place scallop on top on the potato mixture and gently place a pinch of greens above the scallop.
Top the scallop with the dressing and serve.
About Chef Darrell Jensen Chef Darrell Jensen began cooking at his best friend's family restaurant in Los Angeles when he was sixteen. After several years of working there he realized that this was the path he wanted to follow in life. He enrolled in a small cooking school which in turn sent him to the Century Plaza Hotel and Tower to do a formal ACF apprenticeship. He thrived during the three years of training under Master Chef Raimund Hofmeister. After working at several top restaurants and clubs including the Los Angeles Country Club and Michel Richard's Citrus, Chef Darrell Jensen had the opportunity to help open the Snake River Grill in Jackson Hole. He worked in Jackson Hole and Breckenridge for the next ten years before coming to the Vail Valley and opening Falling Creek with Chris Randall. He hopes to continue his success in his role as chef at The Game Creek Club.

Italian cuisine is a top choice for many first dates, special romantic meals for two, and just a favored comfort food of men and women, young and old. One of the first things that grabs your attention is the pleasing aromas that fill you home as you cook Italian style--onions, garlic, tomato sauce, wine, it all comes together to seduce the senses. And the best part--typically there are few ingredients and not many steps to make the perfect Italian dish. Here is our Italian Menu for Valentine's Day: Just click on the title of each recipe for ingredients and directions.
Valentine's Day Menu ITALIAN SEDUCTION Spicy Garlic Shrimp Tomato Basil Bruschetta Pasta Carbonara White Chocolate Parfait with Flambeed Cherries
Let's start backwards. I will share with you a gorgeous dessert that is a true show-stopper and a prefect end to your Seduction Meal. This dessert was created by a fellow food blogger - Scarlett of Desert.net.eu. Her creations are magnificent. This is one recipe that is not a simple Italian recipes -but one look at this phone and you should be seduced to give it a try. Click on the Title to be taken to Scarlett's recipe.
The Main Course is a very easy dish to make, and is an Italian Classic, with a twist. Our Spaghetti Carbonara blends the sweet taste of sun dried tomatoes and
salty pancetta with a creamy Parmesan cheese sauce I like to serve
this with a tomato basil bruschetta (see below) and a bottle of chilled white
burgundy like Domaine Vocoret 2006 Chablis. I typically do not add salt
to this dish as the pancetta is salty. Click on the title to be taken to the recipe.
I have selected two starters, another classic--tomato basil bruschetta, and Spicy Carlic Shrimp. Who can resist hot and spicy? This shrimp dish is a guaranteed hit and very easy to
prepare. Serve this with fresh French or Italian bread to soak
up the garlic flavored olive oi. Serve your starters with chilled white wine or champagne.

Seduction Meals is thrilled to present Nancy Mehagian, author of Siren's Feast, An Edible Odyssey. Below, Nancy shares healthy, exotic dishes that make up her unique Valentine's Day Menu. Of her culinary memoir Quincy Jones
said: "A spicy brew of recipes and adventures. I don't know whether to
eat this book, smoke it or make love to it." Siren's Feast--part
cookbook, large part raucous memoir.
"Whenever I want to seduce, whether for business or pleasure, I pull out all the stops and make B'steeya, the remarkable Moroccan dish of ecstasy. The results are so gratifying, I don't mind spending the time it takes to make it. In fact, I think it is one of the world's best dishes and I've imagined that only someone under the influence of hashish could have created this exotic and spicy combination of flavors, sweet and savory. Once tasted, never forgotten. Whenever I have made this scrumptious dish people have literally bowed at my feet, commenting that it is the best version they have ever tried. I assume no responsibility for what happens after you serve B'steeya".

Whipped cream is a great way to finish off a seduction meal. The possibilities are endless. And strawberries remind me of Nature's Valentines.
As you get ready for planning your Valentine's Seduction Menu, remember
to dazzle your date with an array of alluring foods and beautifully
arranged dishes that will melt hearts with just one look. As your loved one walks through the door to the seductive tunes you have selected for this special evening, they will find themselves aglow in flickering candle light. Hand him or her a glass of chilled champagne and offer them a beautiful tray of Potato Chips with Creme Fraice, Caviar and shaved Truffles, as you set the tone for this very special romantic rendezvous. Hearts are sure to flutter.
Valentine's Day Menu Bistro Seduction Home-made Potato Chips with Creme Fraiche, Caviar & Truffles The Best Crab Cakes Ever Steak Diane & Crispy French Fries with Garlic Shallot Salt Spinach Salad with Pecorino, Pine Nuts, and Currants Creme Brulee
STARTERS Home-made Potato Chips with Creme Fraiche, Caviar & Truffles (Recipe below) The Best Crab Cakes Ever
We begin setting the stage for your romantic rendezvous with two show
stopping appetizers. First, home-made potato chips topped with creme
fraiche, caviar and shaved white winter truffles, and one of my favorite recipes for crab cakes topped with spicy remoulade. Here is a
simple, yet enticing appetizer that will begin to set the tone for your
special romantic meal for two created by owner and chef Matt Fackler of
Relish restaurant. Both appetizers can be served with a glass of chilled champagne. This will perfectly whet the appetite for the next course.
Another one of my all time favorites - Steak Diane. A juicy, rib eye steak (you can also use filet mignon), served with a
luscious brandy-laced cream sauce topped with sauteed mushrooms. For
this main course, I would splurge on a really good bottle of red wine, and serve with homemade thin-cut crispy French Fries with gourmet seasoning from Beyond the Shaker--garlic shallot salt. We also have a spinach salad with pecorino, pine nuts and shallots by Bon Appetit magazine.
And what better way to end our Seductive Bistro Menu that with the all
time bistro classic--creme brulee. Take a
spoonful and close your eyes to concentrate on all its glory; the
seductive qualities of vanilla (an adored aphrodisiac), its soft creamy
texture interrupted by delicate shards of caramelized sugar. As if that
isn't enough to put your senses in a tailspin...try adding a dollop of
homemade strawberry-rhubarb compote and you'll be taken to another
level.
Embraced in their signature purple boxes that exudes style and seduction, Vosges Haut-Chocolat is one the of BEST resources for Valentine's Day Gifts of Love. A long-time favorite of mine for sending gifts with that special WOW factor, these delicious artisinal delights are a just a click away.
Vosges HipHop Collection- $29 This
decadent truffle combines white chocolate, Krug ® Champagne and gold
leaf--echoing rap's transition from music to a culture of "bling". The
word "bling" was first used in 1999 by rappers B.G., Juvenile and Baby
Birdman on their track Bling Bling to celebrate their flashy wealth and
expensive diamonds. It quickly became a fad, infiltrating rap and
hip-hop music until recent years, when the phrase became too
commonplace to garner the same street value. Since then, many artists
have spoken out against the bling lifestyle, criticizing it as
promoting materialism in lieu of responsibility. Even still, "bling"
remains a part of hip hop history.
The

Today begins the annual tribute to the most celebrated day of romance--Valentine's Day. From now through February 14th Seduction Meals, the "go-to site for Romantic Meals for Two", brings an array of dazzling dishes from appetizers to main courses, desserts and luscious cocktails, to help you plan for your special romantic rendezvous.
In addition to our featured recipes, we have assembled special guests who have shared their favorite Valentines' Day Menus to inspire your creativity, and, as we do every year, we have put together our top choices of artisinal chocolate gifts for your loved ones, and gift suggestions for him and her.
We launch this year's Valentine Extraganza with a look to famous lover, past and present, people who lived and died for love, desire and fiery passion. From Perseus & Andromeda to the Duke & Duchess of Windsor., Liz Taylor & Richard Burton, Romeo & Juliet, King Edward VIII & Wallis Simpson, Sid & Nancy, Paul & Linda, Clark Gable & Carol Lombard. Who are your favorite lovers? Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal Emperor of India from 1628 to
1658, Shah Jahan commissioned one of history's most spectacular
buildings, the Taj Mahal, in honor of his much beloved wife, Mumtaz
Mahal. Mumtaz died in 1631, after giving birth to their 14th child. (Yes that was 14!!!) Six
months after her death, the deeply grieving emperor ordered
construction to begin. The Taj Mahal, listed as one of the Wonders of the World, is considered the finest example of Mughal architecture, a style that combines elements from Persian, Indian, and Islamic architectural styles. .
Catherine the Great & Potemkin One of history's greatest love stories, Catherine the Great and Potemkin is a sweeping epic of sex, love, power, conquest and extravagance on a magnificent Russian scale. Not only was their romance wildly passionate but they were also probably the most successful political partnership of all, outstripping Antony and Cleopatra or Napoleon and Josephine.
Antony & Cleopatra One of the most famous women in history, Cleopatra VII was the brilliant and beautiful last Pharaoh of Egypt. Although she is often portrayed as a femme fatale, Cleopatra was deeply religious and studied to be a nun. An accomplished mathematician and gifted linguist fluent in nine languages, Cleopatra was also skilled politician popular with her people. As was the custom of the time, she married her younger brother, Ptolemy. She became the mistress of the Roman general Julius Caesar. Following Caesar's death, Roman general Marc Antony went to Egypt to advance the growing power of Rome. Cleopatra captivated Antony. Their affair scandalized Roman society and bothered Roman politicians, who were suspicious of Egypt's power.
Yet despite the risks, Antony and Cleopatra married in 36 B.C. The couple planned to conquer Rome. But in 31 B.C. the Roman general Octavian destroyed the combined forces of Antony and Cleopatra in the battle of Actium. Hearing a false report that Cleopatra was dead, Antony fell on his sword. With no hope left, Cleopatra induced a poisonous asp to bite her. Elizabeth Taylor & Richard Burton "Her breasts would topple empires before they withered...she was the most sullen, uncommunicative and beautiful woman I had ever seen," said Richard Burton in 1953 of his first look at Elizabeth Taylor. Nine years later, while married to others, he and she began a relationship that enraged the Vatican and caused the gainful employment of hundreds of paparazzi. On the set of "Cleopatra," what Liz and Dick called le scandale just went on and on. The public saw them in bathing dishabille, in drunken brawls and other feats of extreme behavior. There were furs, dogs, yachts, incredible cars, houses, and gigantic jewelry. When Burton died in 1984, his last wife barred Elizabeth from attending the funeral. Today she describes Burton as "one of the two great loves of my life", the other being Mike Todd, who died in a plane crash.
Gertrude Stein and Alice B. Toklas It was love at first sight when Gertrude Stein, 33, met Alice Babette Toklas, 29, in Paris in 1907. Like many great lovers, they met by accident. Stein's parents had gone to Oakland, California, to check on property damaged during the 1906 Bay Area earthquake, where they met Toklas and enthralled her with their stories of Paris. Toklas moved there two years later, met up with Gertrude, and the two women soon began living together. Besides being a well-known avant-garde writer, Stein was a brilliant eccentric with a heavy, unladylike presence. Alice B. Toklas, who worked as Stein's secretary and cook, was a chain smoker with a slight mustache, given to exotic dress. The pair became inseparable, with Gertrude calling Alice "Pussy" and Alice referring to Gertrude as "Lovey." Their apartment at now-famous 27 Rue de Fleurus became the foremost meeting place for artists and writers like Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, Ernest Hemingway and F. Scott Fitzgerald.
Bonnie & Clyde Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow were the most famous gangster couple in history, made more so by the wildly popular 1967 Oscar-winning film Bonnie and Clyde starring Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway.. However the real couple was even more interesting than they were portrayed on film. From 1932 to 1934, during the height of the Great Depression, their gang evolved from petty thieves to nationally known bank robbers and murderers. Though a burgeoning yellow press romanticized their exploits, the gang was believed responsible for at least 13 murders, including 2 policemen, as well as several robberies and kidnappings. The spree ended when they were betrayed by a friend and shot dead at a police roadblock in Louisiana on May 23, 1934. Marie Barrow, Clyde's sister, stated, "They never worried about anything else but each other."
King Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson Edward, then Prince of Wales, met Wallis Simpson in 1931, when she was married to her second husband; they soon began a relationship that would rock Britain's most prominent institutions - Parliament, the monarchy and the Church of England - to their cores. Edward called Wallis, whom others criticized as a financially unstable social climber, "the perfect woman." Just months after being crowned king in January 1936, Edward proposed to Wallis, precipitating a huge scandal. Unwilling to give her up, Edward decided to abdicate the throne. In a public radio address, he told the world of his love for Simpson, saying that "I have found it impossible to carry the heavy burden of responsibility and to discharge my duties as King as I would wish to do without the help and support of the woman I love." Married and given the titles of Duke and Duchess of Windsor, the couple lived in exile in France, where they became fixtures of cafe society
Beethoven and his Immortal Beloved
The
legendary composer, Ludwig van Beethoven, is often remembered as a
gruff man who wasn't particularly easy to get along with. Nevertheless,
he had his share of love interests in his time, although, he never
married. Because of his commonly gruff demeanor, his friends and family
were surprised when they found three love letters (often mistakenly
referred to as one) among his possessions, after he died.
These
love letters, which came to be known as the 'Immortal Beloved' letters
were written many years before the composer's death and they were
written by the composer himself. They were written to a woman whom
Beethoven referred to as his 'Immortal Beloved' and 'My life, my all,
my very self.' No one was ever able to discover who this woman was who
Beethoven had loved so much that he kept those letters for so many
years. Not only is this an obvious example of unfulfilled love, but it
is also one of the most romantic mysteries of all time. No one could
make up a love story/mystery as intriguing as this.
It's always a fun idea to try to think of new ways to make date night a special time. Whether you enjoy planning an exciting night on the town or just want to spice up a classic dinner and a movie night, it's important to make the experience memorable.
Sometimes the best dates happen at home where you and your partner stay in for a home cooked meal on a set of beautiful dinnerware and a romantic ambiance that you've personally set up to make the night perfect. In an effort to avoid having too much of a routine in your relationship, it's a great idea to create date night themes similar to a few we'll go over here. Whatever you decide for your themed date night, keep in mind that food is always a great thing to share and indulge in together after a long and stressful day at the office.
Outdoor Picnic Now that spring has sprung, stake out a warm evening to picnic in the park, on your patio, or even in your backyard to share a beautiful sunset feast. Being outdoors for a date always provides a refreshing feeling and will keep you energized throughout the quality time you spend with your partner. Pack up a basket filled with your favorite wine, a mix of artisinal cheese and complementary fruits, pates and other delicious finger foods to share with each other.
Japanese Seduction There is nothing wrong with ordering in from your favorite Japanese restaurant and presenting a lovely spread of sushi, saki and other delicacies. Dim the lights, play a romantic play list, and gather a beautiful orchid or other exotic flowers to really set the tone. Serve on platters, use chop sticks and serve hot saki in elegant saki cups.
Ole! If the traditional dinner and a movie date night is more your style, use a favorite movie of yours to inspire your themed dinner and attire. Choose a romantic Spanish love story and dress up in a sexy outfit while serving paella or pick an action filled Western and serve up a rack of barbecued ribs from the grill. Flex your creative décor muscles as you create a beautiful tablescape for the event with candles (unscented of course) and flowers.

Using a mandolin so you can get really thin slices, cut a few slices from the center of the potato to yield 4-6 nice size round slice.
Heat olive oil in a cast iron skillet under high heat. When hot, turn to medium high and cook the potato slices until golden brown.
Turn over and cook other side. When the potato has turned into a beautifully crispy potato chip, remove from the skillet and place on a cookie rack, letting it air dry on all sides.

A Menu of Temptation for Valentine's Day Blushing Lady Cocktail
What better way to celebrate independence day then sharing a blanket and tasty delights under the stars. But then again, July 4th weekend is ripe for many opportunities for food and romance. The perfect set up--a picnic for two. The time of day is up to you, a lunch time fiesta in the shade, a blanket under under the explosive colors of fireworks, or a serene sunrise on the beach. Whatever your style, the magic will be there as you revel in each others company while sharing edible delights. Don't forget to bring a few sparklers
Grab your favorite picnic blanket, a basket equipped with wine glasses, corkscrew, silverware, cloth napkins, salt, pepper and smartly wrapped foods; complimented by your favorite wine. You might want to also bring a small cooler filled with ice for the items that need to stay chilled.
I like to keep things simple. Finger foods, prepared foods, even
take-out should all be considered when assembling your tasty treats. And be creative. Do something different. Shower your date with dazzling surprises. Instead of a bottle of wine, try whipping up a couple of martinis beautifully topped with slivers of hand-chipped ice. The possibilities for culinary magic are endless. Below are a few suggestions for the type of picnic you can assemble. If you plan on enjoying a long day or night together, bring fun things you can both do together: scrabble, share your favorite poetry, binoculars for people watching, or the NY Times crossword puzzle.
elegant picnic for two
martini topped with hand-chipped slivers of ice
endive leaves with taramasalata, red caviar, topped with a thinly sliced black olive ring
kalamata olives
octopus salad with olive oil, fresh lemon juice, with thyme
chilled strawberry soup (served in the cleaned martini glasses)
To keep thinks simple, go to your favorite Greek restaurant or market for the taramasalata, octopus (ask them to slice it), and olives. For a more hearty meal, instead of strawberry soup, you can buy spinach pies.
Japanese elegance
Perhaps you are near a really good Japanese restaurant; think of the
beautiful presentation this food brings. All you need to do is be creative with the colors of your set up. A beautifully patterned or bold colored blanket, red candle holders, plates for the sushi, and a good quality bottle of sake, chilled.
an array of color sushi and sashimi
a
bowl of edamame
mix of chicken and beef yakatori (skewered meats)
chilled saki served with thin slivers of
cucumbers slices
watermelon
casual picnic for two
smoked salmon served on black bread, with sweet butter, freshly squeezed lemon, and cracked black pepper
Bored of enjoying your chocolate in a simple cookie, cake or confection? Let's get creative...make your own chocolate body paint (sweet or spicy to match your mood). Choose your canvas, lift your brush, and paint away.
For inspiration check out Hotel Chocolat, a British owned luxury chocolate manufacturer. The site offers a wide range of premium quality chocolates perfect for gifts or pure self indulgence. Here you will find gourmet cooking products, specialty chocolate gifts, and recipes. I couldn't resist sharing the recipe for chocolate body paint when I read... "A luscious, chocolaty concoction that will bring out your inner Picasso - what you choose to paint is entirely up to you..."
Microwave Mix all of the ingredients together in a microwaveable bowl, heat on full power for 1 minute. Stir and blast for another 30 seconds or until fully melted.
Stove Top Mix all of the ingredients together in a bowl. Gently heat the bowl over a pan of boiling water (double-boiler), stirring occasionally until the chocolate has fully melted.
Leave to cool. Collect your painting utensils and subject - then paint onto a suitable canvas. Add a bottle of champagne, so you can sip little delicate bubbles as you review your canvas and contemplate your next stroke. Picasso never had it so good. Well...OK, I take that back.
Have a canvas, but no time to cook?
You can buy a Chocolate Dipping Adventure. With the crunch of toasted crostini, the succulence of cherries, the
yielding softness of marshmallow... all laden with soft, melting
chocolate. Simply heat the chocolate and throw yourself into a
seriously satisfying chocolate adventure.
Valentine's Day is a celebration of love and romance. Whether you are dating, involved in a relationship, engaged, or married, on February 14th, couples across the country step away from their daily routines to embrace an evening of enchantment with their loved ones. Flowers, chocolates, special gifts, dining in, or eating out...reservations, trips abroad, a long weekend get-away--what did you do in the name of love? We'd love to hear your stories. Here are a few:
virginia + tom,committed relationship
My Valentines Day was fabulous! Last night at 7:00 the only people left in the office were the three happily married young people - me and two guys....the singletons were long gone!!! When I got home two things were off.....the lights were mostly turned off and tom was vacuuming??
I went in; turned the lites on--nothing interesting in sight, so I went about preparing his favorite seduction meal, rib eye steak marinated in red wine, onion powder, thyme, salt 'n pepper, served with new potatoes with sour cream and chives, and a green salad - he gets this every year!
I don't expect anything form him as he is very cynical about the whole from this pressure-filled hallmark holiday-thing, but he kept urging me to go into the bedroom. The lights were off and when I turned them on there were a dozen beautiful long stemmed red roses and a gift bag. In it was a teddy bear holding a heart shaped box and in the box was a pair of diamond earrings...
ellen + jeff, married
I had THE most romantic Valentines Day ever--although I have a lot of close seconds. My husband is A+ in the romance category. When Jeff came home from work, he told me to go into the bedroom and wait until he knocked on the door. He came to the bedroom, took my hand an walked me into the living room. There were candles lit everywhere---the room was aglow! Standing in the corner playing the violin was a student from Juliard playing Tchaikovsky. She serenaded the two of us with seven more exceptional musical pieces; giving us a little history about each song-- it was so beautiful! And the timing was perfect--when she was done, as she left--the doorman buzzed to let us know the delivery man from Patsy's Pizzeria was downstairs. Life couldn't be any better!
randee + kevin, married
Valentines day was really nice! Kevin brought me coffee in bed where we exchanged cards.
I came downstairs to find long stem roses in a vase. We went to Bravo Bravo in Mystic for dinner.
I had a bellini martini (peach schnapps, champagne, raspberry and an orange twist) and Kevin had a dirty martini. We split a warm goat cheese salad. Their bread is awesome (served with red pepper hummus, olives and olive oil).
I had Salmon with blood orange salsa over jasmine dirty rice. Kevin had pork chops with mashed potatoes.
I had Chardonnay, he had Russian River Pinot Noir. They had wine glasses on every table with valentine's hearts.. I picked ALL MINE!
We came home, looked at the moon and acknowledged our blessings. Then Kevin made a fire in the fireplace and we watched "Becoming Jane" with Anne Hathaway about Jane Austen.
My Valentine - I surprised my husband with a romantic dinner. Menu: Strawberry, goat cheese salad. Filet of beef au poivre (barefoot contessa) with roasted potatoes. Chocolate covered strawberries for dessert. Complete with candles and flowers. I found everything on foodnetwork.com. I don't normally cook, so my husband was really surprised.
alison + irene,"in escrow"
My girlfriend picked a restaurant several weeks ago and made us a reservation; I read the menu and its EXACTLY the same as other nights, but the prix fixe was twice as much just cause its Valentine's Day. So we decided to stay in and go out another night. Seemed like a better idea since sometimes I work late and its hard to make dinner plans in advance. So now, Irene (who loves to have an excuse to cook something new) is making us what she calls a "rock & roll clambake" comprised of clams, mussels, shrimp, scallops and lobster. We sometimes go to BLT Fish Shack (www.bltfish.com/shack/) on Monday nights for the "rock & roll clambake." Irene wants to try and recreate it at home. Dessert is a surprise.
As it turns out, the menu was changed from the "rock & roll clambake" to the "Rustic Seafood Stew", but it was equally delicious.
Christy + Steve, engaged
We went to this little place in our neighborhood called Elote. It's Mexican. Steve loves Mexican food, and I've sort of been obsessed with Mexican food and culture since we got engaged in Tulum (in the Yucatan) in December.
The restaurant is usually a casual kind of place, but the staff dressed up for the occasion, and they were playing romantic music in the background - lots of love songs.
The oyster stew was yummy, and I loved the scallop appetizer. And the margaritas there, are kick ass. Overall, it was delicious (and a bargain to boot).
stacey, single
I went to a friends house where 5 of us watched Lost. I brought a 7 layer dip, and my pal Cher made a slow cooking roast.
Jeff + Katie, married, 1 child
Pre-Valentine's day dinner included Saturday night dining at Peter Luger's with another couple. Two orders of steak-for-two, medium-well for the girls and medium-rare for the guys. Side orders included tomato and onions, cream of spinach and fries. Desert was a key lime and chocolate cake slice with schlag, which is an incredible German whipped cream. Amazing. It was planned for two weeks, hence the amazing dining time we got for 4:45 :-)
For Valentine's evening I made a salad which consisted of fresh spinach with crushed walnuts, chopped shallots, fresh breadcrumbs drizzled with a light olive oil and vinegar dressing as the foundation. On top I prepared thin breaded chicken strips topped off by toasted breaded disks of goat cheese and garnered with apple slices. It was really good!

Woman love men who

Romantic Gift Idea: I love hand-written letters, love notes left on my pillow, lipstick messages on the mirror, and opening a hand-written envelope from a lover or a friend. For some, the hand written love letter is a thing of the past; how sad. Why not treat yourself to a great holiday gift this season with custom designed personalized note cards.
I spoke to Debra Riggs, owner or Park City Paper and Pressto hear her thoughts and share a few samples to inspire your custom designed cards.
How do I love thee? Let me count the ways. I love thee to the depth and breadth And height my soul can reach....Elizabeth Barrett Browning
There is nothing better than the written word for pouring out your heart to a loved one, leaving a sweet message in reference to an evening's passion or memories of a special time together. In our age of emails and instant messages, we sometimes forget the relevance of a personal touch. Can you imagine Ms. Browning closing her missives with a smiley face emoticon? Never! And neither will you should you wish to delight, enchant and captivate that someone special.
For those who wish to make an endearing impression (and you know that you do!), there is no better gift than your own hand-written words. And you can raise that impact tremendously by your choice of stationery. Fine papers provide a canvas for your message and together, the whole is greater than the sum of parts. Now, I'm not talking about etiquette here though, certainly, there are reasons and experts for that. This is about self expression. Be it serious for business, whimsical for friends, or saucy for lovers.
Having a little coterie of personalized notes hints at your style. Mistakenly, some consider fine stationery to be relegated to nice holiday cards, wedding invitations, and baby announcements. So wrong! There are designs and price points to meet any taste and budget. Take a look at this wonderful display to inspire your shopping experience.
Treat yourself this Holiday and bring back the seductive art of hand writing letters of love. Shower your loved one with billets doux to express your passion and unique style. Make this your canvas--a real representation of you, even before you say one word or blow a kiss!

Kudos for your spontaneity. Two hours ago you made plans with dream-girl / dream-guy...dinner at our place and then some. The very thought of your bold move causes your right eyebrow to raise as a
lascivious grin spreads across your face.
Suddenly your mind races. Hmmm, what will I wear? I need wine.... and flowers. And dinner...what to do about dinner!
Let's face it, for most of us 2 hours is not enough time to show off our culinary prowess in the kitchen and get ready for this special tryst. Don't let that get in your way. You can still share a great savory Seduction Meal before your evening workout. Remember: great food, creative presentation, sultry music, good drinks, a warm, welcoming set-up, and you are golden.
Enter Risotteria Restaurant. With no time to cook this gem of a place serves up food so good you'll keep this filed in your little black book for emergency moments just like this. Order your meal and have it delivered while you set the table, put out fresh flowers, light the candles, get your music play list going, and spray a little perfume on your pillows.
I will start by saying the food is addictive. I innocently ordered in one night-- risotto and salad, and was blown away by the amazing taste. Risotteria offers three different risottos: Arborio, Vialone Nano and Carnaroli "the caviar of rice". Select the risotto of your choice and top it with any of their 35 unique combos. Whatever you choose will easily set the tone for a Seduction Meal extraordinaire.
Here are a few of there tantalizing selections- my all time favorite is listed first and presented in the photo above:
Arborio risotto with porcini mushrooms, sweet corn & white truffle oil
Arborio risotto with shrimp, garlic, hot peppers and arugula
Vialone nana risotto with fontina, zucchini, tomato and parsley
Vialone nana risotto with gorgonozola cheese and walnuts
Carnaroli risotto with roasted chicken, kalmata olives and peppers
Carnaroli risotto with roasted pork shoulder, garlic and Italian parsley
Carnaroli risotto with Parma ham, fontina and arugula
Prices for risotto range from $10 to $16. One order of risotto is plenty for two--it is so rich, and when complemented with one of their salads, you will more than satisfy your partner. My favorite salad, photographed below, is so good! Mixed Greens with mozzarella, asparagus, and oven-roasted tomatoes. They deliver it dry with the dressing of your choice on the side. Pass on the dressing and use your own extra-virgin olive oil with a little balsamic vinegar or fresh squeezed lemon juice. Add salt and pepper to taste. Uncork a good bottle of wine, dim the lights, and you are good to go.
The New York Times review says it all "... Risotteria has boiled it down to a science, using just the right ratio of butter and oil to flavorful chicken stock, producing risotto that stays creamy not only over hours but overnight, and also reheats well".
Good to know should you wake up ravished the next day wanting more....and then some!

On a last note. I learned of Risotto Restaurant from my friend who wanted to try the extensive gluten-free menu offered here. I shared a pizza meal with her and it was really good! So if you need to eat gluten-free go online and check out their menu for award-winning gluten free breads, pizza, paninis, beer and more. Or just stop by when you are in the West Village. The restaurant itself is small, very noisy and cramped--it's no wonder they have such a big take out business. Thankfully risotto travels well.
Well here it is, the first day of my blog. So what's it all about?
Seduction Meals is about food + romance and the premise that everyoneshould learn to master one dish that is their signature dish--a Seduction Meal, to enchant and captivate that special someone in your life. From simple to gourmet, whatever your style, anytime you find someone "oohing and ahhing" over the food you've served, and the overall experience moves you closer to your desired intent... you can consider that a Seduction Meal.
While the taste of your meal is paramount, the overall holistic experience is also key: the ambiance of the room or location, the time of day, the aromas, the presentation of the meal, the music played, the drinks served--it all adds up.
Let me paint a picture...
That special someone has accepted your invitation--dinner at your place. What will you do for this potentially enchanting evening? A rooftop soiree with stars overhead, sultry music, a candle lit table with bouillabaisse for two. Or, perhaps its your anniversary, you want to do something seductively romantic. What do you have in mind? Champagne and caviar served in front of the fireplace followed by chocolate dipped strawberries. Or, maybe chocolate body paint is more your style. . .
The reason for your Seduction Meal may vary; the first date at your place, a special celebration, taking your relationship to the next level, or an anniversary. The main purpose of this blog is to share recipes, stories, mistakes and tips on how to prepare for your special occasion. But more than anything I welcome hearing from YOU and learning about YOUR favorite recipes, YOUR favorite music, and YOUR Seduction Meal stories--good and bad.
Let's have some fun sharing two of life's universal pleasures, food + romance.
