A Leisurly Lunch at Comerç 24 in Barcelona
I heard a lot of great things about Comerç 24 which is located in the El Born section, and couldn't wait to have lunch here.   The service was excellent, the staff extremely attentive and friendly. The food was innovative, delicious, creatively presented with very good size portions. While a bit pricey, I thought it was worth every penny. This is avant-garde Catalan cooking at its best by Chef Carles Abellan, and this was one of the best meals I had in Barcelona.

comerc24_1.jpgCarles Abellan was trained by world renown Chef Ferran Adrià of El Bulli, so you know you are in for something seductively special. As soon as you settle in, the waiter comes by your table with a display of the day's home-made bread. The sliced bread is delivered to your table with a tray of four different olive oils, with an explanation of each variety.

comerc24_2f.jpgEverything on the menu seemed so good, it was hard to decide that to have, but I will say, we hit a home run with our choices. While there were many dishes we wanted to try, there are two that I will be sure to order on my next visit: The 'Kinder egg' (lined with truffle) and the tuna sashimi and seaweed on a wafer-thin pizza crust. Here is our lovely seafood lunch at Comerç 24. As you can see, we were so full, there was no room for dessert!

You weren't kidding about this place, were you? What a GORGEOUS meal. I need those phyllo cigars in my life. Thanks for the other two recommendations from your last post - I'll be sure to check it all out :)
